Jeff Wozencraft (Community Development) said the area includes five parcels (two consenting totaling 75 acres, three non‑consenting totaling 12 acres) and described the annexation as necessary to prevent creation of a county island and to allow future development to meet city standards. He said the annexation is consistent with the Swisher governmental agreement and that staff has been in contact with all property owners; if approved here, the item will go to two City Development Board meetings in June and July and then be recorded in August after the City Development Board process.
Council held a public hearing with no objections and adopted the resolutions to proceed with annexation steps.
