Egg Harbor Township committee approves consent calendar and votes to enter closed session on personnel and legal matters

Egg Harbor Township’s committee approved a consent calendar of resolutions and administrative items and then authorized a closed executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters.

After a short public-comment period and presentations, the committee moved to the consent calendar (Resolutions 487 through 503) and approved the bill list authorizing payment of township bills by roll call. Committee members also approved minutes (including the November 13 meeting and several special/closed-session minutes) and departmental reports for October. One committee member said they would abstain on a particular item during roll-call proceedings.

Later in the meeting the committee approved Resolution 505 to convene a closed executive session under the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act. The resolution listed several agenda topics for the closed session with anticipated confidentiality periods: personnel (police captain position, anticipated disclosure six months); a Green Acres application (anticipated disclosure one year); Atlantic Shores update (anticipated disclosure one year); and Lotus/Red Oak dispensary updates (anticipated disclosure six months). The resolution directed that minutes remain confidential until confidentiality is no longer required.

Committee members asked procedural questions about meeting dates and reminders. Officials reminded residents the township would hold a single meeting in December (the committee referenced December 11 as the next scheduled meeting) and that the parks survey would be released in early December.

Next steps: committee will meet in closed session to discuss the listed personnel and legal matters; public follow‑up on any required disclosures will occur after confidentiality periods end or when permitted.
