City planner Dan presented site-and-building plans for Michaels Construction’s proposed office expansion in the Otsego Industrial Park, reporting the design meets setback and parking requirements and that staff and the planning commission recommended approval subject to seven conditions.
Jack Bratkin, president of RJ Ryan Construction and the project’s contractor, said the team is ready to proceed and would answer questions from council. Dan said the proposed addition would double the existing office footprint on Lot 1, Block 1, maintain existing shop and warehouse area, add roughly 30 parking spaces and comply with stormwater and utility requirements.
Councilmember Jeff moved to approve the site and building plans for the office expansion as presented; Councilmember Tina seconded. The council approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff noted future permit reviews will cover exterior lighting and signage; the approval was conditioned on the findings of fact and the seven enumerated conditions included in the council packet.
