Council approves CentraCare subdivision and final plat for ambulance garage

Willmar — The City Council approved a preliminary and final plat for CentraCare East Addition on Aug. 15, allowing CentraCare to subdivide parcel 952310120 and construct a new ambulance garage with associated staff parking.
City planning staff said the parcel is roughly 3.3 acres and that the southern portion will be used for the new garage. Planning commission recommended approval at its Aug. 7 meeting. The council discussed concerns raised at planning commission about siren noise and mitigation: CentraCare agreed to measures such as limiting siren use on exit to avoid residential disturbance when feasible.
Council voted to approve both the subdivision and the preliminary/final plat by roll call (8 ayes, 0 nos).
