Westfield council adopts salary, capital and bond ordinances; approves year-end resolutions

Council adopted Special Ordinance 2024-10 on second reading, a bond ordinance to appropriate $915,000 to authorize the acquisition of real property for use as a pedestrian plaza/pocket park. During brief discussion a council member noted the ordinance caption could be read as a $965,000 purchase but clarified the town pursued a selective grant to cover materials and commended administration for obtaining grant funding; the motion passed with all present voting yes.
Separately, the council approved a package of 28 finance resolutions covering refunds, account cancellations, warrant authorizations and payroll warrant procedures for multiple employee groups effective Jan. 1, 2025. The council also approved bills and claims in the amount of $752,406.48.
