Princeton swears in six officers during Dec. 9 council meeting

Princeton leaders on Dec. 9 formally swore in six police officers promoted within the Princeton Police Department, a ceremony held at the start of the mayor and council meeting.
Chief Tash introduced the honorees and praised their years of service, saying, "I'm confident that these 6 officers are fully prepared to embrace the new challenges and responsibilities that come with their promotions." The officers recognized included Sergeant Craig Humble; Sergeant Eric Dawson; Sergeant Darwin Kiefer; Corporal Stephen Ladd; Corporal Deshawn Cribb; and Corporal Daniel Edstrom, each of whom recited the oath of office and received congratulations from council and family in attendance.
Speakers at the ceremony outlined each officer's career history, training and awards, and noted assignments such as community-impact units, detective roles and K-9 handling. Council members and attendees thanked families and public works staff who supported the promotional event.
The council paused its regular agenda for the ceremony; members were invited to leave after the formalities if they wished. No formal council action was required beyond the recognition and swearing-in.
The promotions reflect internal personnel decisions and do not change the council's budget actions of the night. The meeting continued after the ceremony with proclamations and regular business.
