State grant of $2.1 million announced to support new multipurpose field at Alcalá Park

Councilwoman Hudak told the Linden City Council that Senate President Nicholas Sacco presented a $2,100,000 grant-funded check to support construction of a new multipurpose field at Alcalá Park.
Hudak described the award as a product of collaboration among local officials and county and state partners and said the grant creates new opportunities for local youth recreation. She also announced a parks master plan community meeting on Dec. 10 at School No. 10 (Highland Avenue) for residents to weigh in on parks and open-space recommendations, including walking paths, seating and playground improvements.
The report was delivered as part of routine council reports; council members expressed thanks to officials and urged residents to attend the upcoming public meeting.
