Lexington planning board continues Magna Gray conditional-zoning hearing to Dec. 16

LEXINGTON — The Lexington Planning Board on Nov. 18 voted to continue a public hearing on a conditional-zoning application from developer Magna Gray to a special-called meeting on Dec. 16 at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall Chambers.
Planning staff member Tammy told the board the application covers several parcels totaling approximately 130 acres currently zoned suburban neighborhood, traditional neighborhood and business district, adjacent to Plaza Parkway/I-805 and near the British Woods, Country Club and Highgate Lane communities and Fairview Drive. Staff noted the city received a letter from the Lexington Neighborhood Association on Nov. 12 and that Magna Gray submitted amended plans on the prior Friday.
"The plans that were submitted, the amendments, a lot of the changes that we looked at, do appear to be in response to some of the requests that were heard from the community," Tammy said, summarizing staff's review of the revised materials.
Because the amendments include substantial changes, Tammy recommended continuing the hearing so staff and the technical review committee can complete review of utilities, access, stormwater, engineering and other infrastructure issues and draft conditions based on the new information. The chair said both parties agreed to the continuance.
Motion by Mr. Dunn, second by Ms. Williams, to continue the Magna Gray conditional-zoning public hearing to a special-called Planning Board meeting on Dec. 16 at 6:00 p.m. in Chambers; the motion carried with board members indicating "aye" (vote tally not specified).
The board will reconvene at the special meeting to receive staff’s technical recommendations, developer responses and public comment before making a formal recommendation to City Council.
