The Concord Board of Health reported it unanimously passed a nicotine-free generation regulation that will prohibit the sale of tobacco products to anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 2004.
Randy Crane, speaking to the Select Board, said the regulation is intended to limit the ability of a new generation of Concord residents to purchase tobacco and reduce youth addiction. Crane said the vote followed a public hearing that drew support from people both locally and from other parts of the state.
Crane also reported the Board of Health updated certain bodyguard regulations and reiterated outreach for flu and COVID vaccination clinics and the ongoing community health needs assessment survey. The regulation was described in the meeting as adopted by unanimous vote of the Board of Health; Select Board members were briefed on the outcome but did not vote on the measure at this session.
