Commission schedules joint HCC/HTC meeting to refine preservation‑plan survey results

The commission scheduled a joint meeting with the Historic District Commission for Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. to review consultant revisions to the Historic Preservation Plan and to divide eight qualitative survey questions among members for curated quotes and summaries to be incorporated into the plan.
Staff reported that consultants Elizabeth and Peter revised table of contents and condensed survey results for the Historic Preservation Plan. Commission members agreed to hold a joint HCC/HTC meeting on Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. to review the consultant revisions and to help distill survey responses.
Staff asked commission members to each take one of the eight qualitative survey questions, identify two or three representative, powerful responses, and return suggested quotes and summaries to staff so the plan’s public‑voice excerpts and highlights better reflect Concord residents’ comments. Consultants agreed to provide question‑specific packets to make the work manageable for commissioners.
The consultants will use the curated highlights as pull quotes in the plan and the commission will review the final draft at the joint meeting. Staff also noted survey results and draft documents will be circulated in advance so members can prepare.
