ZBA continues Lapolito house-raising petition to Jan. 9 so applicants can provide stamped plans

Petitioners Alfredo and Janelle Lapolito asked the Yarmouth Zoning Board of Appeals for permission to raise a house at 21 Television Lane to address repeated flooding. The board heard the petition on Nov. 14 and instructed the applicants to provide stamped civil and structural plans that show finished elevations, stair and landing designs, and distances to lot lines. The board emphasized that stair landings and how staircases exit the raised structure affect setback relief and that the applicants may need additional relief for those features.
Because the materials were incomplete, the board voted to continue the matter to the Jan. 9, 2025 hearing and required the petitioner to sign an extension so the application would not be constructively approved. Staff noted the deadline for materials for the January hearing and explained the constructive-approval rule if the extension were not signed.
