Judge Jones announced Lisa Ferguson's resignation as county clerk effective 11/05/2024 and the court voted unanimously to appoint Penny Burke as acting fiscal court clerk. Later in the meeting the court approved a retroactive temporary pay-grade increase for Penny Burke (retroactive to Sept. 23) while she performs both her regular duties and the clerk's duties until a replacement is hired; the court said the raise will revert once the position is filled.
The court also acknowledged the resignations of Trent Bentley and Lisa Ferguson (effective dates recorded in the minutes) and approved appointment and reappointment motions, including Mark White and Kathy Harvill and the reappointment of David Hutchins to the airport board.
Treasurer Frankie presented a consolidated (lump-sum) motion to authorize several disbursements and acknowledgements: e.g., a check of up to $4,000 to Jimmy Kaiser for lodging related to transporting Mack trucks to an auction; AEP $319,851.80 for three-phase power to Wolf Pit Industrial Park (AML funds); an EFT to Microsoft for $8,250; a semiannual elevator maintenance payment to Oracle Elevator for $3,284.64; and acknowledgment of the treasurer's monthly financial statement ending Oct. 31. The court approved the treasurer's motion by roll call.
The court recorded a clean audit for Pike County Clerk Darryl Pew for year ended 12/31/2023 and congratulated the clerk on the result.
