An amendment to make stop-sign and stoplight language identical was adopted and the underlying bill was advanced by the Senate Transportation, Technology & Legislative Affairs committee. An unidentified presenter told the committee the discrepancy between the two terms had "caused consternation" and the amendment "makes them the same."
The committee recorded the amendment as seconded by Senator Davis and adopted after a voice vote. Later, a motion to proceed with the amended bill was made by Senator Desmaine and seconded by Senator Davis; the committee voted by voice and the chair indicated the bill passed.
Committee members did not raise substantive objections during the brief discussion. The chair moved on to the next agenda item after the passage. The committee adjourned later in the session.
