Committee approves bill allowing concealed-carry permit holders into most municipal parks

He emphasized the inconsistency between national/state parks (where carry is allowed) and city parks (where it is not). Ally Brown, identified as Arkansas state director for "2 a women" and a mother of four, testified in strong personal support, describing parental safety concerns and urging passage.
Committee members asked whether the Municipal League opposed the measure; sponsor said the Municipal League indicated no opposition. Senator Clark moved the bill and requested a roll call; the committee recorded a 5-to-1 vote in favor, with Senator Flowers voting no. The chair congratulated the sponsor and noted the measure will proceed.
