The sponsor told the committee the change reduces the statutory listing of Benton County divisions from 14 to 13 by removing the Bethel Heights listing and that the Administrative Office of the Courts had staff available to answer technical questions. Senator Flowers asked whether the bill eliminates a court or simply a division; the sponsor responded it removes a division only and does not close a court.
The committee moved and seconded the bill and approved it by voice vote. The chair announced the motion carried.
