Linn‑Mar recognizes winter/spring athletes and awards scholarships to seniors

The Linn‑Mar Community School District board opened its meeting with a special recognition presentation honoring winter and spring student‑athletes and announcing senior scholarship recipients.

Athletic Director Tanya Moe, joined by Kelsey Resteder, reviewed accomplishments across programs and named state qualifiers, state champions and Academic All‑State honorees. "This is one of my favorite things to do whenever I can recognize our kids and their accomplishments," Moe said as she introduced highlights of the winter season and spring competition. She called out individual honors including Ashlyn Chamberlain (first‑team All‑State in cheer) and state champions such as wrestler Kane Nachteborn (144 pounds) and track state champion Maya Dengehagen (high jump). Moe said the boys swimming team finished third at state and listed multiple All‑State individual placings and conference awards for coaches.

Moe also praised academic honors, calling Academic All‑State recognition "really, really hard to do" and listing student names across sports who met those standards. The pom squad and other fine arts teams received mention for regional and national placings; Moe noted the pom team placed second at nationals. She thanked coaches and alumni who returned as staff.

Board members and staff thanked the athletes and coaches. The presentation included recognition of 32 Lynn Mar high school seniors who received scholarships organized through the Lynn Mar School Foundation; the superintendent's report later reiterated those scholarship awards and volunteer recognition.

The board did not take formal action on athletic recognition; the segment was informational and ceremonial. The meeting moved on to other business afterward.
