Commissioners discuss meeting video retention, roads funding bundles, staffing and local services

York County commissioners spent a portion of their meeting on operational matters ranging from meeting-video retention to intercounty road projects and public-safety transport arrangements.

Tech committee report and records retention: Speaker 4 said the tech committee reviewed recent changes to Facebook's video policies; Facebook-hosted live recordings are now available for only 30 days. Citing the secretary of state's position on open meetings, Speaker 4 said the county should retain recordings for a year after minutes are approved. "Their ruling is that any any video recording should be retained for a year after the minutes for such meeting have been approved," he said. The committee plans to download past Facebook broadcasts, host them on a county drive accessible via the county website, and transition future live broadcasts to YouTube Live to ensure long-term access.
