The Town of Yarmouth’s Community Economic Development Committee met Aug. 13 for an interview with consultant Jeff Bagg of BSC Group to identify barriers and near‑term actions to support local businesses, housing and capital projects. The session focused on permitting delays—especially state-level reviews—building local grantsmanship, wastewater and broadband infrastructure, and seasonal/workforce housing shortages.
Bagg said the firm is roughly midway through assessing existing conditions and will host a public meeting Sept. 26 at the senior center to reintroduce the comprehensive plan; a more robust facilitated workshop is scheduled for January to develop specific action items and costs. “We’re sort of at the beginning to midway through assessing existing conditions,” Bagg said, and added that the outreach will test action items and help the town prioritize projects.
