Administrators said the parcel resolves prior access challenges because the district lacked direct road access to some of its holdings; acquiring the tract would bring the district’s contiguous property close to about 20 acres, an amount administrators described as suitable for a future elementary school site. The district confirmed an abstract exists for the parcel, reducing transaction costs.
Board members moved and approved the purchase in a unanimous vote. Administration said the acquisition would be consummated according to the negotiated terms and integrated into future planning for facilities.
