Developer updates Fate council on Sauce & Vine restaurant; opening eyed for early March

Developer Jeff ******* and business partner Ted Grieve updated Fate City Council on Nov. 18 about the Sauce & Vine restaurant project planned for downtown Fate.
Jeff ******* said the project began pre-COVID and has faced funding and material delays, but that recent site photos show beam construction underway and that designers have preserved several trees on the property. He told the council the original investment estimate "was about 3.21" million and the project is now around "$5.43" million without adding the event center.
Ted Grieve described the restaurant concept as Texas-style Italian with wood-fired pizza, open kitchens and an outdoor patio intended to extend the nearby park. The developers said they expect staff training by mid-February and an opening target of early March, with phased features that could include an event center and bocce courts later.
Council asked a few logistical questions; no council action was required. The city indicated it would continue to coordinate required inspections and permitting as the project advances.
