Erin, introduced as the Town of Concord’s new assistant HR director, told the Personnel Board the town has completed interviews for the CMLP director and emergency communications manager and is moving through first and second rounds for the payroll manager role.
Erin said the payroll search drew a strong pool and that the successful candidate will need strategic experience to support the town’s Munis payroll conversion; she added staff were working on employee imports as part of that implementation. Board members asked about candidate diversity and outreach: Kimberly and Erin said the town added recruitment sources about a year ago (including Magnolia postings, Pink Jobs and Diversity.com) and has also begun working with GovHR to amplify job posts on LinkedIn. Kimberly said the town recently hired a candidate who cited LinkedIn as the source and described GovHR’s paid outreach and optional vetting services.
Board members discussed whether the personnel board should leverage its members’ LinkedIn networks to increase reach; Kimberly said staff would welcome assistance forwarding GovHR posts. The board also asked whether GovHR performs candidate vetting under the current contract; Kimberly said, at present, GovHR is posting and driving traffic to the town’s application page and that the town can pay an additional fee if it wants GovHR to perform vetting and outreach services.
Erin and staff framed the recruitment and Munis work as operational priorities tied to the town’s implementation timeline; they asked the board to be aware of the need for targeted outreach for higher-level or mission-critical roles and to help ensure postings are broadly visible.
The meeting closed after the board completed its agenda and gave brief member introductions.
