Concord Light Plant: staff transition, audit timeline, AMI progress and weekend broadband upgrade

On operations, Jason said the utility expects completion of residential advanced metering in early October if meter supply holds. He reported 34 customers have opted out of AMI to date and staff had swapped more than 300 load‑control relays system‑wide. He also highlighted an upcoming Concord EV showcase at Bradford Mill and said staff are scoping battery‑storage studies with an outside consultant (KLM).
On broadband, Jason described a planned 3‑year upgrade the broadband team finished over a recent weekend across 17 town sites; six staff worked from 5 a.m. through the night to complete the upgrade, which he said increased speeds (five to 20 times, depending on site), improved security and added a concentrated data center with hot‑failover capability while isolating town management and broadband networks to reduce cross‑impacts.
What’s next: Jason said staff will post the finance job, bring more details on the director transition and share updates on the audit as information becomes available. The board thanked staff for the broadband work and for progressing AMI deployment.
