The Clayton City Council on Feb. 18 approved consent calendar items 5A and 5C and tabled item 5B for additional review. The motion to approve items 5A and 5C was moved and seconded and passed by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
During discussion, council members raised questions about a $29-per-parcel fee referenced in the packet. Staff explained that the parcel fee was originally set by the council and that, under state rules and the county's prior practice, any increase would require returning to voters; staff said no countywide vote was scheduled and that cities could pursue separate measures but that a coordinated county approach had previously been favored.
The council did not change the parcel fee at the meeting; item 5B was pulled for more information and will return to the council later if needed.
