Clayton honors three library founders as it marks the Clayton Community Library’s 30th anniversary

At the April 1 meeting the Clayton City Council recognized three volunteers who were instrumental in establishing the Clayton Community Library, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in March.
Mayor Troopiano introduced Joyce Atkinson, the late Jeanie Boyd (honored posthumously) and Diana Bauer, recounting their grant writing, fundraising book sales and community organizing that led to the library’s opening in March 1995. "We thank you, Joyce, for all that you've done for our community," the mayor said as she presented certificates.
Library Director Geneva Moss thanked the Foundation and described recent and upcoming services: a Foundation‑funded 3D printer, the Hoopla streaming service (four checkouts per month), and collaborative events with Clayton Valley Village for older residents including an iPad‑skills session on May 9. Moss said program attendance rose from 6,428 to 7,075 year‑over‑year and thanked staff and volunteers for supporting National Library Week (April 6–12).
A resident, Allison Lisonbee Snow, spoke during proclamations requesting a formal autism‑awareness proclamation and presented an awareness flag that will be hung in the grove; the council accepted the offer and staff will advise on display timing.
