Finance Officer Claire introduced the liquor-license hearing; applicants Casey McCoy (Pinz) and Danielle Bunkers (Norby's) asked council to allow alcohol sales on publicly owned property for Oct. 19. Council moved, the motion received a second, and members approved the special liquor license by voice vote.
Casey McCoy and representatives from JMR Entertainment (Shelley) described plans for a community-focused weekend that will include tournament play, inflatables, karaoke, food and a beer garden run by Norby's. Shelley said the tournament raises scholarship funds and highlighted growth: "Last year, we gave out over $16,000 in scholarships in one day," she said.
Organizers told council they would work to minimize business disruption and involve local merchants; Norby's was identified to manage beer service inside a designated beer garden. Council approved the outdoor-event permit after discussion and a motion to approve.
