City approves Pink Ladies Car Show and special alcohol license for Sept. 21

The Dell Rapids City Council approved the Del Rapids (Dell Rapids) Pink Ladies' annual car show to be held in City Park on Sept. 21 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and granted a special alcohol license to Prohibition Pub (representative listed as TJ Anderson) to sell alcoholic beverages on city property during the event.
Staff told the council that all required paperwork had been obtained for the special alcohol license and that fees were waived because the event is charitable and proceeds will go toward cancer-fighting causes. Councilmember Gary moved to approve the special alcohol license after staff described the anticipated on-site sales setup (booth, truck or similar), and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Separately, staff presented the events portion of the application and recommended council approval of the car show; Cavigelli moved to approve the event and the council approved it by voice vote. Staff noted typical internal event approvals by city hall but explained that alcohol sales on public property require council approval.
The event organizers and staff will coordinate logistics and any vendor or quote requirements; council did not record any additional conditions for approval in the public transcript.
