Jamestown — The Jamestown Town Council, sitting as the Alcohol Beverage Licensing Board, approved a Class B license for White Bread Company LLC (doing business as Standards) at 40 Narragansett Avenue and scheduled a public hearing for Our Table LLC’s proposed upgrade from a limited to a full Class B license.
The board convened a brief public hearing and heard a short introduction of the applicant; councilors moved to approve the license for the 40 Narragansett Avenue location by voice vote. Councilor comments referenced the business’s prior use as "Chopin’s" and acknowledged community interest in getting the new operator established.
Our Table (53 Narragansett Avenue) asked to upgrade its limited license to a full Class B; the council moved to advertise and hold the licensing hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, allowing the public an opportunity to comment before any final decision.
What this means: Approval gives the applicant at 40 Narragansett Avenue permission to operate under a Class B license as agreed by the board. For Our Table, scheduling the hearing begins the formal public‑notice process; any final approval will follow the public hearing and board deliberation.
Next steps: The licensing board will consider public comment at the Dec. 2 hearing for Our Table. The council also approved an additional licensing item related to the same 40 Narragansett Avenue business during the meeting.
