Staff walked council through several specific line items and reasons for increases, including building and maintenance projects that exceeded initial expectations, planning/positioning for new staff, legal costs associated with bond properties, mosquito control supply and liability insurance increases, and higher parks and events expenses. Staff proposed injecting approximately $930,000 into several accounts with $50,000 budgeted as contingency and about $880,000 showing as drawn from reserves.
Council moved, seconded and approved the first reading of the ordinance; the second reading was scheduled for the council’s first meeting in December.
