Property manager Heather Lewis said her company promptly responded when contacted and that, while she would cover proven damage if documented, she did not think the public-record absence of complaints justified denying the license.
Councilors acknowledged sympathy for the neighbor’s concerns but said the short‑term rental ordinance and the town’s record provided no basis to deny the application. After deliberation the council moved, seconded and approved the short‑term rental license.
