Somerset tables website redesign decision; staff to return Dec. 5

"I really like about, Mitchell, they have this emergency alert thing," Speaker 6 said while walking commissioners through examples. The presenter described the company as locally based and able to provide site hosting, SEO and social sharing integrations.
Commissioners asked about timeline and budget placement. Staff and one commissioner noted that a build starting now would likely push a final product into January or February and therefore into the 2025 budget. "We probably wouldn't get a final product till January, February," Speaker 5 said when discussing build time and budgeting.
Action taken: A commissioner moved to table the matter to the Dec. 5 meeting to allow staff to collect additional budget and scope details. The motion to table was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Next steps: Staff will gather budget estimates, finalize a scope of work and return to the commission Dec. 5 with a recommendation and any contract language for consideration. The commission did not authorize contract signing or budget appropriation at this meeting.
