In personnel action, the commission reviewed Bill Winter’s 90‑day performance evaluation as utilities foreman and approved a recommended wage increase to $29.67 (grade 12, step 4). The body also approved an organizational chart change to reflect reporting relationships to the utilities foreman.
Other administrative items included authorizing proposals for city‑owned vacant farmland (weed control/hay) with proposals due Sept. 13 and scheduling a public forum for the city administrator recruitment (Sept. 12). The meeting closed after a brief discussion about scooter safety and railroad ditch cleanup.
What happens next: Ordinances will return for subsequent readings per the city’s ordinance process; staff will run recruitment forum and solicit proposals for hay/weed control.
