The commission awarded the city’s farmland/hay-ground mowing and weed-control contract to Jason Gannon, who submitted the highest bid at $145 per acre on 64.2 acres, a total bid of $27,927.
Staff said the bids were due Oct. 9 and three bids were received. The award authorizes a contract for the work; commissioners also discussed whether the city could keep a secondary bidder on standby if the primary contractor fails to perform. Staff said they would consult the city attorney if needed to preserve a secondary option.
The motion to accept Gannon's bid and approve the contract carried by roll call.
