The Exeter Town Council authorized two procurements: a bid solicitation for replacement of the clerk's office roof and a separate solicitation to address basement water issues. Councilors moved and seconded each request and approved both by voice vote.
Councilors and staff also conducted an early discussion of the town—s preliminary budget: department heads are submitting requests that frequently seek increases because of higher materials and labor costs, and trust-account numbers necessary for final budget figures were not yet available. Speaker 8 (finance/budget staff) told the council staff is reviewing departmental submissions and that a line-by-line review will be part of upcoming budget hearings.
Council members discussed community notification and a government mobile app as part of outreach during the budget process. They asked staff to investigate options such as "1Call" or CodeRed-like services and to present recommendations in the budget agenda.
