At the Dec. 9 meeting the Yankton City Commission approved several routine but material items: vehicle procurement for the police department, acceptance of a roadway project, fee-setting and the introduction of a floodplain-code update.
The commission approved a memorandum recommending purchase of two 2025 Dodge Durango SUVs for the Yankton Police Department Patrol Division from Broadway Motors of Yankton at the state-bid price; the memorandum estimated the total purchase with installation and parts at approximately $135,639.92.
The commission also accepted the completed Eighth Street reconstruction project and authorized the finance officer to issue a manual check to Masonry Components Inc. in the amount of $408,953.14 to close out the contract.
Separately, the commission approved a resolution to set city fees as presented and introduced ordinance 10 92 to update floodplain development regulations and revised maps; a second reading and public hearing for the floodplain ordinance is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2025.
