Staff listed three standard conditions for a family daycare: the permit is not transferable; if the business ceases operations for six months a new application is required; and the facility must pass a fire inspection. Applicant Darla Coomer spoke to the commission: "I do have a new playground in the backyard. It is fully fenced in," and said the prior pool on the property has been removed. The commission moved, seconded and approved the conditional‑use permit with the usual three conditions.
Plat approval: The commission approved a plat for Lot 2, Block 3 of the Lakeridge Addition (Ethan Co op Lumber plat). Staff noted clerical errors to be corrected before signatures, including changing Lot AB from "future" to "platted" and correcting the surveyor certificate to list Lot 2. The motion to approve the plat passed.
Other business: Commissioners approved the meeting agenda and previous minutes, set July 22 as the next meeting date, and introduced a new member, Jay Sherans, who described his local ties and service in the South Dakota National Guard. The commission adjourned after inviting public comment; no members of the public spoke.
