Orange County board reports several closed‑session settlements including $6.5M global agreement and $4.5M T‑Mobile deal

"The board approved the settlement of claims filed by claimants Altdorfer, Justice, Otto Caruso, Napier, Kenville, Schertz, and Warner for a total global amount of $6,500,000," County Counsel reported, adding that the Robeson family's counteroffer was accepted and the board approved settlement of the Robeson family's claims for $3,000,000. County Counsel also reported approval of a proposed $4,500,000 settlement with T‑Mobile related to damages incurred by the county during the 2020 Silverado fire and described a related proposed settlement in the Leticia Romero matter as approved in principle.

The County Counsel said those actions were taken pursuant to the closed‑session authority cited on the agenda under Government Code section 54956.9 (settlement negotiations with real parties in interest). The report repeated multiple times that the settlements "remain subject to the final approval of others" and that finalized agreements will be made available through the CEO's risk management office when complete.
