Benjamin Ruby, board administrator for the 60th District Court, told commissioners the reclassification request is intended to retain a longtime employee who prefers the duties of the proposed clerk classification and to avoid a certification requirement tied to the former court-reporter job. Ruby said the move would not increase county payroll costs. The board voted to approve the reclassification.
