Muskegon County approves modest increase to park parking permits

"We are looking at parking fees that, and they have not been changed since 02/2002," Luegens said, and staff characterized the adjustment as a $2 increase for daily permits and $5 for the seasonal (annual) permit.
Commissioners who moved and supported the motion called for a voice vote; the chair put the question and the motion carried. The committee did not identify any exemptions or special rates during the discussion and did not provide a written breakdown of expected revenue from the fee changes.
Why it matters: County officials said the increase is intended to modestly boost park revenues after more than two decades without adjustment. The committee did not provide an estimated revenue projection at the meeting.
The committee moved on to other agenda items after the vote.
