Louisville Metro code board upholds multiple citations, grants conditional discharges and sets compliance deadlines

The Louisville Metro Code Enforcement Board reviewed dozens of property‑code cases on July 5, 2024, upholding multiple citations, granting conditional discharges in several matters and setting follow‑up dates for properties that remain out of compliance.

The hearing opened with procedural instructions and swearing of witnesses. Dwayne Fields, the board’s case coordinator, and Timothy Daveney, a Code Enforcement supervisor, presented inspection histories and photographs in case after case. The Hearing Officer reminded attendees that testimony would be given under oath and that false statements could be referred for prosecution for perjury.

Several decisions assessed monetary penalties while also offering conditional relief if owners completed repairs and avoided repeat violations.
