Atkinson listed staff and volunteers and highlighted recent program metrics: back-to-school events that equipped about 400 students in 2024, prior-year attendance numbers at community events, and emergency payments provided through the county disaster-relief partnership.
Atkinson described next steps: pursue an MOU with the sheriff's office, the district attorney's office and child welfare services to host forensic interviews locally; develop supervised visitation services; expand caregiver and foster-youth supports; and seek additional grant funding to sustain youth-summit and mental-health programs. Board members praised the organization's partnerships and impact, particularly youth programs and emergency response work.
What happens next: Mariposa Safe Families will continue MOU discussions with county partners and pursue state/federal and private grant funding to expand forensic-interview and supervised visitation services.
