The Merced County Board of Supervisors elected Supervisor Josh Pedrozzo as board chair and Supervisor Darren McDaniel as vice chair at its Jan. 14 meeting.
Supervisor Silvera nominated Pedrozzo for chair and Darren McDaniel for vice chair; Supervisor Rivera seconded the slate and the board approved the nominations by voice vote. Pedrozzo thanked family and colleagues and outlined priorities for the year, including strengthening the county’s homeless ordinance, promoting economic development and improving road infrastructure. He also emphasized fiscal stewardship and multi-year budget planning.
The board’s selection follows the board’s traditional practice of choosing leadership at its first meeting of the calendar year. Pedrozzo and McDaniel will lead board business and preside over meetings for 2025.
