The Butte County Board of Supervisors used its consent calendar on April 8 to adopt ceremonial resolutions and confirm a series of appointments to local advisory bodies, and later approved an employment contract for the county's Director of Child Support Services.
Under the consent agenda the board adopted a resolution recognizing April 2025 as National Library Week; Misty Wright, director of libraries, thanked the board for the recognition. The board also adopted a resolution recognizing April 5–11, 2025 as the Week of the Young Child and heard remarks from Melinda Geiser and Christina Ifftiger of the Butte County Office of Education and the county's Local Child Care Planning Council.
The board approved reappointments and nominations to several advisory bodies: Leslie Dunn was reappointed to the Kimleshiu Cemetery District (three-year term through 03/24/2028); Jason Slack was reappointed as the certified pumper/manufacturer representative to the Wastewater Advisory Committee (term through 04/07/2029); George Arvinen was reappointed to the Airport Land Use Commission through 05/04/2029; Christie Sher was reappointed as the Butte County representative to the IHSS Advisory Committee (term through 12/31/2027); and supervisors nominated Duke Sherwood and Pete Moke for the Surface Mining and Aggregate Operations Committee, with appointments approved.
Later the board approved an employment contract for Elizabeth Holloway as Director of Child Support Services, with an annual salary of $146,274 and a contract term from June 21, 2025, through June 20, 2028. Holloway told the board she has spent much of her career in California child support programs and looks forward to implementing service improvements in Butte County.
