Developer seeks MUD annexation for 13-acre Brazos Cove subdivision in Freeport

Wong said the project would create roughly 70 lots and that annexation into a MUD is necessary for the development to be price-competitive with nearby subdivisions. "Give me the mud that will allow me to compete with all the subdivisions North of Freeport," Wong said, adding that he could begin site work within about 90 days if the council supports the annexation.
The workshop focused on two interlocking issues: how to fund infrastructure and whether residents would face financial risk if industrial uses inside the MUD underperformed.
