Union representatives urge transparency as district prepares bargaining and budget moves

Gicker noted concern about potential certificated reductions, including librarians and intervention TOSAs, and asked the district to avoid repeat pink‑slip scenarios like last year’s 15‑teacher layoffs.
Board and superintendent responses: administrators said no layoffs were being issued at the meeting and emphasized that the fiscal stabilization plan is a draft; trustees and staff encouraged continued dialogue.
Outcome: No personnel actions were taken. The board accepted sunshine bargaining openers and scheduled negotiation sessions to begin next week.
