The Select Board heard a final report on the Tamworth Community Nurse Association (TCNA) building project, which the presenter said is complete after two years of planning and nine months of construction.
The presenter told the board the project finished slightly under the construction manager’s budget and included upgrades intended to improve TCNA’s ability to deliver health services. Features cited: an increase from 29 cramped parking spaces to 43 paved regulation spaces, additional lot lighting, improved handicap access, interior servicing stairway for upstairs equipment, conduit for future EV stations and a reservable conference room plus roughly 800 square feet of space available for repurposing by the town.
A ribbon-cutting and brief remarks are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10:00 a.m., followed by tours and refreshments from local vendors. The presenter noted representatives from major funders — the governor’s office for emergency relief and the Community Development Finance Authority — are expected to attend.
The board offered thanks and congratulated project staff and volunteers. The Select Board was asked to be present for the event and to be mindful that some finishing landscaping and interior tidying remain.
