The ordinance (No. 765) was introduced with related policy language in the agenda packet; councilmembers asked clarifying questions about scope and device types. Councilwoman Ryan moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilwoman Muir seconded; the motion passed 7–0.
The policy requires city‑owned devices that access the secured network to be managed and controlled by the city, limiting the presence of certain applications to reduce cybersecurity risk. Staff will implement the policy through device management and updates.
