The council voted to approve a lease agreement for 705 East Kennedale Parkway to provide temporary operations and housing for the Kennedale Fire Department while the city's fire station undergoes remodeling. Staff said the lease covers apparatus storage and equipment space and that a trailer will be brought to the same location to house personnel during the remodel.
Staff told the council the lease has been reviewed by the city attorney and that adjustments requested by legal counsel were incorporated. Councilmember Ms. Rayer moved to approve the contract; the motion was seconded and the secretary announced the motion passed unanimously (5–0).
Councilmembers indicated the lease was included in the project budget and bond allocations and that the arrangement should meet the department’s needs for space, bays and equipment holding during the construction period (01/01/2025 through 12/31/2025).
