Huntington Township supervisors voted on Dec. 12 to adopt the advertised 2025 budget and to maintain the township's municipal tax rates at 2024 levels, including a $5 per‑capita levy.
Speaker 1 moved to approve the advertised budget and the motion carried after a second and an aye vote. Treasurer Pat presented financial figures showing general fund receipts of $85,221 and expenditures of $137,156.04, leaving a general fund balance of $811,192.39. Pat reported ARP interest of $17.76 for an ARP balance of $216,633.93, and a state fund balance of $125,780.41; total funds across accounts were $1,153,606.73.
On tax rates, the board confirmed the township levies no real estate or fire tax, maintains a $5 per‑capita tax, does not levy an occupational tax, and keeps a 2% discount and a 10% penalty on collections. Speaker 1 moved to leave the 2025 municipal tax rates the same as 2024; the motion was seconded and carried.
The board also scheduled its reorganizational meeting for Jan. 6, 2025 at 07:00 with the regular board meeting to follow, and auditors will meet Jan. 7 at 7:00.
