Huntington Township supervisors review finances, approve minutes and routine bills

The Huntington Township Supervisors approved routine minutes and bill lists and reviewed the township's finances at their meeting.

Pat Davis, secretary/treasurer, reported the township had receipts of $50,111.25 and expenditures of $29,597.85 in the general fund, leaving a balance of $779,973.57. She said the American Rescue Plan (ARP) interest received was $19.62, with ARP expenditures of $5,750 leaving an ARP fund balance of $226,947.78. The state fund balance was $5,291.13, and the total in all accounts as of Jan. 31 was $1,012,212.48.

The board approved the Jan. 11 minutes after a motion by a supervisor and a second from the chair. The Jan. 31 and Feb. 8 bill lists were also approved by voice vote after motions on the floor. The transcript records the motions and subsequent voice votes but does not provide a numerical roll-call tally.

Supervisors also reviewed and approved box card changes for local volunteer fire/EMS coverage after discussion; the board agreed to consider an inquiry from the fire company about increasing the township's donation under the regular donation review process. A calculation cited in meeting discussion showed an increased donation figure of $5,470, which supervisors said they would review when appointing regular donations.

There were no formal budget amendments or new appropriations adopted at the meeting. The board did not make a decision on the fire-tax donation increase that evening; the clerk said the donation request would be considered during regular budget/donation review.

The next supervisors meeting is scheduled for March 14 at 7 p.m.; the planning commission meets Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.
