Council approves multiple event and business licenses, corrects Muse Tavern race start time

Council approved several licenses including Broad Rock Middle School PTO 5K, Muse Tavern 5K and beverage license (amended to a noon start), Utter Delights holiday sales, Healy News Sunday/holiday sales and Terminesi's victualing and Class B liquor license after required steps.
The South Kingstown Town Council approved a package of event and business licenses Wednesday.
Licenses granted included:
- Broad Rock Middle School PTO: Coyote Chase 5K (April 5, 2025) and 1-mile fun run; organizer Jessica Domak described outreach through school channels and Empire Timing. The council approved the item by voice vote.
- Muse Tavern: a 5K road race planned for Nov. 24, 2024, with an associated class-F (19-hour) beverage license to benefit South County Health; organizers expect to raise roughly $45,000 and possibly more. Chief Moynihan noted the application misprinted the start time as 11 a.m., and the council amended the motion to a 12:00 noon start and approved the corrected items.
- Utter Delights Ice Cream & Frozen Desserts: holiday and Sunday sales license for a new Wakefield location; applicant Michael Celio said he operates two other locations and plans a December opening.
- Healy News (David Hall): holiday and Sunday sales license approved.
- Terminesi's Cafe (Albert Terminesi): victualing and holiday sales licenses approved, and the council completed necessary steps to create and issue a Class B liquor license for the first-floor bar and dining area contingent on standard conditions (certificate of good standing, insurance, fire-code compliance).
All motions carried on voice votes after brief discussion and routine public-hearing steps where required. Council members reminded applicants about insurance, hold-harmless agreements and other standard license contingencies.
